  At the Memorial......

  i did make it to the memorial with my wife this past sunday.

  at first everything was going the same as always...the talk, the passing of the crackers and wine, but then towards the end the brother giving the speech did something i had never seen.

  he was talking about how we could never pay a price for what christ has given for us...he then pulled a big wad of cash with what was clearly either a 20 or 50 on the front and flashed it to everyone in the audience.

  Fortunately I never made it. Do you think he was just trying to show off? He was probably just waving his change purse from windowcleaning.

  Hi and a question

  i have been lurking for a few days and wanted to ask a question.

  i stumbled on this website because i have an aquaintance who is a jw and i wanted to learn more about this religion.. first off, let me say that i am a christian.. my question is this: in reading a lot of posts, i see that many of you have left the religion because you believe the wbts has not been truthful in their interpretation of scriptures and because of their incorrect prophecies.

  but it seems many of you still believe that they were correct in their belief that the trinity is totally a wrong teaching.

  Mmm,

  I see what you mean. But it's all open to bizarre interpretation... I guess that somebody could prove from the Bible that Jesus was neither God or Son of God, since he never said those things.

  I must say that when I first read this thread, I thought the title was:

  Who is Your American Idol prick?

  If that was the case, then there are so many. To be honest I don't really like those 'Idol' programmes but like to watch half hour of them every now and again just to see the legendary Simon Cowell shoot down obnoxious pre-madonna's in a ball of flames.

  Advice on Germany Trip

  hey all..... .

  it's been awhile since i've posted, but i have a few questions for anyone that lives in, or knows germany very well.

  i am going to be flying into frankfurt (as a layover from somewhere else), and i'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what to see, stay, etc.

  My dad always used to say that the best thing in Germany is the plane coming straight out!

  I'm sure his view was blinkered. But have a good time!

  my wife is a teacher and she had a class today, where she played a game with the kids.

  one child came forward and stood facing the class with her back to the blackboard.

  another kid wrote "minnie mouse" above her head on the blackboard; the purpose of the game being that she had to guess "who" she was, by asking the class questions.

  Yeah, it is a sad state of affairs.

  Hey, I got this audio mp3 of a talk given at my local assembly hall about three years ago. In it, the speaker ( District Overseer ) speaks of how the brothers in Eastern Europe are having 'great sucess' because they are telling those poor, underprivalidged people that soon all their problems will come to an end!

  I must dig out that mp3 and post it, it's very ironic.

  I hope you find peace in whatever it is you are doing, but please explain to me again, why Catholic? Seems like you are going from one set of nutters to the next.
